Who needs us?
The School Food Trust have put together a core range of training which enables us to meet to Government directives for every school work force training.
We will be going out to schools and colleges to deliver training in the work place, and by inspirational live elearning courses, and to the school cooks and their teams. But we will also be getting the Healthy Eating message across to school children and students, and increasing the take-up of school meals which meet the new nutritional guidelines.
We have a wide range of people waiting for us to get started... whether it be:
- Primary Heathcare Trusts referring patients for healthy eating courses;
- a small business starting up food production needing help in meeting the new nutritional guidelines;
- a GP referral for a coeliac or sugar-free cookery lessons;
- an elderly person in need of help to feed themselves;
- young carers needing support and friendship whilst learning life skills at the cookery school;
- young pre-schoolers learning to make simple food;
- after-school cooking clubs for children;
- would-be young chefs summer holiday cookery classes;
- parents and children together learning to cook healthy food.
- all of these will have the opportunity to join classes and use our facility. And we will be working with Government and Lottery funded initiatives such as Let’s get Cooking, Food for Life, Year of Food and Farming, as well as The Prince’s Trust and the National Association of Care Home Caterers. All these people and more are already waiting to come through our doors.
